Greenbank Guild
Motto: Whose we are and Whom we serve |
Here are the Church of Scotland National Guild web pages.
The Guild is a church-based organisation for men and women. The Greenbank Guild usually meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 2.30pm in the Braid Room, to enjoy a wide range of speakers. Recent topics have included Research work at Edinburgh Zoo into supporting endangered species, Renegade Monk and Run away Nun, Stained Glass and Haggis Breeding.
Here is our programme of meetings for the session 2025-26.
In addition to regular meetings we have a Christmas party and a Summer Outing each year.
Supported Projects
The Church of Scotland National Guild’s current three-year programme is Let us build a House. This includes Sure Foundations, Living Stones and Beyond the Walls.
Until Christmas 2025 the Greenbank Guild is supporting two CrossReach programmes (CrossReach is the social services arm of the Church of Scotland):
- Specialist perinatal therapy with crèche support at Sunflower Garden. The team there delivers Parent and Infant Relationship therapy.
- Daisy Chain, a community-based early intervention project for children under 12 and their families.
In 2026 we will be supporting a Project in Egypt to improve life in a very poor Christian area where families currently find it impossible to make their houses weatherproof.
In the past three years we have raised over £3,400 for projects by donations at meetings and events and Coffee Mornings.
