Permission for Photograph Use
There is not usually a problem in using photographs of adults. However it is courteous to inform someone that you intend to publish their photograph, and confirm that they are willing to let this happen.
Images of children – in particular, faces – can only be used if written parental permission has been given. (Such permission is sought in forms used to register children for regular activities such as Messy Church or Holiday Club. In subsequent use of any photograph of the event, faces of children whose parents have denied permission are blurred or otherwise concealed, or the photograph is not used at all.)
Any attempt to publish a photograph or other image of a child is subject to the same condition of written parental agreement. Please do not submit for publication, in any of the publicity channels, any photograph including a child where parental permission has not been given.
